Discover the Wild Within

The safari of a lifetime starts here.

At Wildland Collective, we believe a journey is like a living, breathing organism. It grows, it changes, it interacts. It feeds an ever-curious mind and challenges our understanding of the world around us.

After 15 years working as a photographer all across the African continent, it is my goal to share some of the journeys I’ve been witness to, in hopes that you will be impacted as much as I have. Developed with partners & friends, all of the journeys we offer are trips I’ve personally done, trips that are special to me, trips that have world-class luxury, world-class wildlife and just enough adventure to keep things interesting.

Africa is a fascinating place and it is built for the curious, for those who want something unique. As a photographer, it has always been my goal to find new perspectives and interesting angles and our mission is to build trips which take on that same form and help our guests see things for the first time, or offer new, life-changing perspectives. Our motto is ‘Discover the Wild Within’ because we want all of our guests to, not only see a new geography, but to develop a connection to the wilderness within themselves.

Whether it is helping our clients celebrate weddings under a remote acacia tree in the Serengeti, or building a customized itinerary for a luxury photographic safari, you can expect an overwhelming sense of awe every morning you wake up in Africa. There is no place in the world quite like Africa and it will be our honor to share the experience with you.

Have a look at the website, be inspired by the landscapes and wildlife, and get in touch with us. I’ve spent most of my life producing images for magazines and publications across the world so this website is meant to read a bit like a magazine or periodical. It is meant to inspire you and highlight places we think you should visit and things we think you should do. Then, you can get in touch with us and we will help build and book you an itinerary which is perfect for a once-in-a-lifetime trip that fits your budget and your dreams.

BOUTIQUE IS BETTER

SUNRISE ON A NEW ERA OF TRAVEL

How Wildland Collective began and why a boutique travel agency is better.

Matthews Mountain Range, Northern Kenya

The best of barefoot luxury in Northern Kenya.

Kalepo Camp in Northern Kenya offers a relaxed and luxurious retreat surrounded by the iconic Ndoto Mountains. Chill out poolside, or go for a hike with the Samburu elders, but don’t go too far from the bar because this camp has the best gin & tonic selection we’ve ever seen. Don’t be fooled by the remoteness, you’ll be treated to world-class dining in the middle of nowhere.

Have breakfast interrupted by a gentle giant.

In Kenya’s remote north, the Ewaso Nyiro River carves a strand of deep oasis in the middle of the arid desert and forms the Samburu National Reserve. The narrow band of vegetation surrounding the river creates one of the most stunning elephant habitats in the world. It is here you can dine with these gentle giants as they eat the fruits from the doum palm trees scattered through camp. Samburu reserve is known for its intimate elephant encounters and warm Samburu warrior cultural experiences.

Get an elevated perspective.

Namibia is off the beaten path as far as travel goes, but perspective changes everything. High above the NamibRand desert, views of Sossusvlei covered in low-lying mist gives way to a sunrise of dreams. An aerial helicopter safari across Namibia opens up a whole new experience for guests because the views of the desert and coastal dunes are like nowhere else on earth. This spectacular 5-day safari will take you from chasing Oryx across the dunes of Sossusvlei to the shipwrecks of the infamous Skeleton Coast.

Discover new colors in Ethiopia’s Danakil Depression.

At the northern end of the Afar depression lies a cinder-cone volcano called Dallol. In the Cushtic-Afari language, Dallol roughly translates to ‘disintegration’ which is the word the Afari use to describe the acidic ponds created from the volcano. The discharge is a type of brine or high salinity water mixed with acidic liquid similar to what you’d find in the pools at Yellowstone National Park in the US.

Get up close and personal with an endangered species.

Northern Kenya’s wild dog pack aptly named ‘The Phoenix Pack’ because they did just that…rose from the ashes. Wild dog have been listed as an endangered species since 1990 and, in northern Kenya, the wild dog population was pretty much annihilated in 2017 due to an outbreak of canine distemper. Over the past 3-4 years, the Phoenix Pack have made a spectacular comeback to a healthy number. Here, a group of youngsters checks out a remote camera on the ground.
