Spend the night at a 4-million star lodge.
Filled with the tales of journeys long past and lived on through names littering the trails such as Shipton, Mackinder, and Tilman, Mount Kenya is Africa’s second tallest mountain behind Kilimanjaro. On its slopes, a small cabin called Rutundu sits unassuming, but grander than life itself. This is where Prince William proposed to Kate.

Explore the snowy enchantment & wild flora of Africa’s highest peaks.
The contrasting silhouettes of Kilimanjaro and Kenya – one a great sloping dome and the other with its jagged jutting peaks – are each impressive in their own way. The two tallest mountains in Africa beckon you from afar, inviting you to their summits and into their storied histories.
Located in northern Tanzania, Kilimanjaro is the world’s tallest free-standing mountain and rises to 5,895 meters. Mount Kenya, located in the geographic center of Kenya, is 5,199 meters at its highest point, but most climbers’ final destination is Point Lenana, the third-highest peak, which has an elevation of 4,985 meters. The views from the top of these mountains may be the headline attraction, but the ecosystems you travel through on your way to the peak are often just as stunning.
Neither climb requires technical mountaineering experience (except for Mount Kenya’s two highest peaks), making it a popular tourist destination accessible to most. Although a certain level of fitness and physical ability is necessary, the biggest obstacle to summiting is often altitude sickness, which is almost exclusively cured by a quick descent. Wildland Collective will make sure your journey up the mountain is as comfortable as possible, with porters, cooks, and guides who are equipped to make sure your experience is practically painless.
