Uganda

Arriving in Uganda, your plane will touch down at Entebbe International Airport on the edge of the waters of Lake Victoria. Approximately an hour's drive from the capital city of Kampala, Entebbe has the only international airport in the country.

Uganda, known as the Pearl of Africa, can often be an overlooked destination for safaris, especially when compared to its East African neighbors of Kenya and Tanzania. But the country is home to incredible wildlife. It has 20 species of primates, including the famous mountain gorillas found in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Queen Elizabeth National Park is a great place to see tree-climbing lions along with elephants, leopards, buffalo, hippos, and chimpanzees.

There are also more than 1,000 recorded bird species in Uganda, almost as many as in Kenya despite being less than half the size, making it an ideal location for birders. The town of Jinja, home to the Source of the Nile, is known as the adventure capital of East Africa, where you can lean into your adrenaline junkie side and raft, tube, kayak, bungee jump, and more.
