In wine making, a ‘reserve’ wine is considered to be the finest, most select harvest of grapes, aged for a longer period of time in order to design and curate the most renown of flavor profiles. We utilize a set of hand-picked private villas, exclusive-use properties and private mobile camps across Africa to give our guests a good feel for all the five senses. Each property plays into the next, bouncing between one magic location to the next, each with its unique and beautiful feel.

Fresh fruits and vegetables grown in organic soil nearby flood your taste buds. You never knew a tomato could be so flavourful, a carrot so sweet. The meat and herbs and spices and produce, whether new to your pallet or something you once thought familiar, pleasantly surprise you over and over again. The decadent meals are as fine as anything offered in upscale restaurants in Paris or New York and yet you get to enjoy the same quality with the view of wildlife just meters from where you sit.

It has always been my experience that Africa has a way of endlessly challenging us. It changes our pre-conceived ideas about the world, about ourselves and the lives we lead back home. One of my favorite things to share with guests is the space Africa gives us to discover the wild, not only externally, but within us. There is something magic about it.
I believe wild places have a way of bringing us to center. Sitting under the big open sky, surrounded by nothing but wilderness is the greatest gift mother earth can give us. It is the genesis of all true perspective.
When guests come with us on a Founder’s Reserve expedition, we make sure every need and desire is tailored to. We take immense care to design expeditions that are unique, clever, innovative and authentic. However, I also personally believe Africa is a place of discovery, of re-invention, and a place where the wild within our souls can flourish. I often see our clients come on high-end luxurious trips and they don’t leave with a memory of the nicest bottle of champagne or the finest cuisine, but rather, they leave with the memories of how the wild’s of Africa changed them personally and challenged them to grow as a person.
