A Bobby Neptune Signature Experience

The Founder’s Trip

Ewaso Nyiro River Delta into Lake Natron. Kenya/Tanzania Border

The Founder’s Signature Experience

There is nothing else like it, anywhere in the world. We promise.

After 15 years working as an aerial photographer all across the African continent, there are certain experiences which stand out as beyond the rest. The founder’s trip is a culmination of several of those experiences wrapped up into a two-week journey across Kenya’s wild spaces.

Beginning in the Shompole basin, the trip starts in my favorite place to fly in all of Africa. With the Ewaso Nyiro River’s remarkable abstract patterns as it deltas into Lake Natron, the visuals are almost beyond the imagination. If you are a photographer, this is a paradise for you. You’ll spend the first two nights of the trip at an exclusive-use property with a helicopter at your disposal to explore the basin and photograph the flamingos, salt patterns, and Lake Natron.

Then transition west over the Nguraman Escarpment into the Masai Mara ecosystem to the drinks-globe luxury of Mara Naibosho and explore big cat country. See cheetah, lion, and leopard in the wild landscape of the Mara.

After the Mara, we move into the vast remote wilderness of Northern Kenya’s wild frontier. Three nights in Borana Conservancy at one of the most beautiful lodges in the whole country with a morning helicopter expedition up to the top of Africa’s second tallest mountain for a champagne breakfast and a bit of fly-fishing. Borana’s rolling hills are home to elephant, lion, leopard and the property itself sits at a unique juncture between the wild north and incredible luxury.

After Borana, we move to Kalepo Camp situated in the middle of the Ndoto Mountain range and have a helicopter on standby to play along the jagged ridge lines of the Ndotos.

From Kalepo, we will do a full-day helicopter excursion into the remote Suguta Valley home to Kenya’s iconic painted valleys, hoodoos, and to thousands of migratory flamingos. With some of the most dramatic landscapes ever, the helicopter gives us access to sand dunes, desert cold springs, and an open horizon to adventure.

On our last night, we will fly into a remote and rustic mobile camp where we will spend the night under the stars in a dry river bed. Here we will toast to the memories and bid farewell to an epic adventure which we will never forget.

For me, this is a safari that encompasses the best of what Kenya and Africa has to offer. It is an all-time, iconic journey. There is an age-old saying about Africa: “Once the red dirt of Africa gets into your blood, it is impossible to ever live without it again. It will change you forever.” I feel this sentiment after every safari, but especially after the founder’s trip. There is something special here, something that will stand the test of time and something that won’t be forgotten quickly. I am proud to put my name on this safari and I personally guide every founder’s trip.

I look forward to sharing this experience with you.
